While driving to show a client a home in South Phoenix, I caught site of a complex that looked pretty special so given I had a few minutes, I stopped to take a look.  Turns out what I found is the Secret Garden, an old estate built in 1929 that now serves as a venue for events such as weddings, banquets, and other celebrations.

I took a few minutes to walk around to take it all in and was amazed at the Spanish Colonial architecture throughout the buildings and the warmth and charm of that Old World styling.  Immediately, I had already decided that the Secret Garden was something to come back to again.

The buildings are ornate in structure and decoration.  Each room holds a different eclectic feel from the next.  The gardens are private, lush and captivating.  I really found the setting enjoyable the brief time I was there.

From what I understand, the restaurant there, VintageMarket Gourmet Food & Wine, is open to all visitors and not just for event attendees.  As such, I thought it a romantic setting for a night out with the spouse or significant other and will likely venture there for a romantic evening in the near future.

The Secret Garden is located at 2510 E. Baseline Road in Phoenix.
