I wanted to bring this post to the attention of readers here in the Valley who may from time to time visit Tempe downtown. The last thing I know any of you would want after a great evening is to find your car missing (towed) for supposedly parking illegally, after having a great evening. Unfortunately, this is what happened to my broker, Jay Thompson, this past weekend.
Jay wrote about it in detail and based on his second post on the topic, I sense he is on to something with regard to the legality of the lot owner and towing company in towing vehicles parked on the lot. Let’s hope he breaks through on a practice in a way no one else has to date.
At a minimum, perhaps it will alert some readers to be wary of practices such as this so this doesn’t happen to you. At a maximum, perhaps it will open up Tempe Police to a practice that may in fact not be to city ordinances.

They got my car! Boycott these businesses that allow these crooks to operate! Jack in the box on Mill Ave in Tempe, AZ is one “bait” lot that they use too tow cars from. Within minutes of my car being towed I watched in aw as another car was towed from the same lot with the owner not ten feet from his car.
